I began my home schooling journey in 1992. My first child Gabrielle began around age 5. We started with mainly text books, work books, etc. I was new at it and had no idea what I was doing ! My second child Joseph arrived in Summer of 1992 and we continued. It was a challenge as Joseph had a bad reaction to DPT immunizations at age 1 year old. He stopped walking, talking and playing. At age 6 years he was able to communicate more so and we continued all the more with the home schooling. Robert arrived in Winter 1994, Heidi 1997 and Jeremiah in 1999. Wow ! we had a classroom of different ages, learning styles and personality ! I did find it helped Joseph immensely to hold a koosh ball as I was reading to him and the others. We home schooled each all the way thru Highschool age....up to graduation. All have moved out and on their own except Joseph. He's our right hand man and takes care of his Mom and Dad
