Two statements I’ve heard recently that intrigue me.
“Be willing to doubt your truths.”
“It’s never too late for the truth.“
I’m curious if people want truths or prefer to be told what they want to hear, validating beliefs they’ve adopted through indoctrination. (Everyone is indoctrinated, some choose to question their indoctrination along the way even if they continue to resonate with it.)
Truth is not always comfortable, especially when it challenges thoughts and ideas you feel committed to.
That being said, a wise gentleman once reminded me, “there are no absolutes, so truth is relative and fluid.”
Be sure you know why you hold your beliefs and explore them with curiosity, rather than simply searching for information that only supports your points of view - you can always find that.
